Lo strumento di Controllo Google Dance messo a disposizione da IceLab permette di verificare, in maniera molto attendibile, se sia in corso un aggiornamento degli indici di Google.
Il controllo avviene sostanzialmente in 3 fasi:

Numero di backlinks: come prima operazione vengono confrontati i backlinks per alcuni siti di grosse dimensioni, ricercandoli mediante 3 server differenti. Se i numeri dovessero corrispondere, la Google Dance non dovrebbe essere in corso.
Numero di pagine indicizzate: confrontando il numero di pagine indicizzate per alcuni importanti siti, su diversi datacenter Google, è possibile verificare l'effettiva presenza di una Google Dance.
Risultati in SERP: se la Google Dance dovesse essere iniziata, i risultati per la ricerca delle parole chiave inserite dall'utente sui diversi server dovrebbero discostarsi l'un l'altro, a causa delle continue fluttuazioni messe in moto dall'aggiornamento degli indici di Google.
